Independent Business Development

You know the industry.
We have something worth bringing to it.

Shrink Software is building a small network of independent business development partners with deep relationships in the food industry. If you've spent years earning trust in your part of the business, we're interested in the people you know and the credibility you've built — not in turning you into a software salesperson.

Start a Conversation First, What We Do
What Shrink Does

Most food operations still write down
the work after it's done.

Temperature logs filled in at the end of the shift. Lot codes copied by hand. Compliance records pieced together when the auditor asks. The cost of food made but never sold left as a guess. You've probably watched good companies live with this for years.

Product
Food made but never sold
Most operators can tell you what they produced. Far fewer can tell you, the same day, what was thrown away, by product and by site — so the loss repeats.
Compliance
Records assembled after the fact
Food safety and traceability records are often rebuilt from memory and paper when someone asks for them, rather than created while the work happens.
Management
Information that arrives too late
Managers spend their time chasing missing information instead of acting on it. As a company grows, that administrative load grows right along with it.
Shrink Manager puts the record into the work itself. The label, the temperature check, the lot code and the delivery are captured on the floor as they happen, so the record exists before anyone has to remember it. It runs alongside a company's existing ERP or accounting system rather than replacing it. And it arrives as FDA's food traceability rule (FSMA 204) heads toward its July 20, 2028 compliance date — with large buyers already moving ahead of it, such as Walmart's supplier traceability requirements, in effect since August 2025.
Already Working

Not a concept.
In daily production.

Shrink Manager was built inside a working food operation and has run there every day for more than two years. We are now bringing it to food producers beyond that first network — which is where you come in.

2+ years

Multi-site

Where Your Experience Fits

The parts of the food business
we want to reach.

We're looking for people who know one of these worlds from the inside. If your background sits somewhere nearby, we'd still like to hear from you.

Seafood & Aquaculture
Processors, packers and distributors where cold chain, lot codes and HACCP records are under constant scrutiny.
Produce & Fresh-Cut
Packers and fresh-cut operations moving short-shelf-life product, much of it on FDA's traceability list.
Prepared Foods & Commissaries
Central kitchens and commissaries producing ready-to-eat food every day for many destinations.
Food Manufacturing & Processing
Plants where production records, labeling and yield sit at the center of the operation.
Food Safety, Quality & Traceability
QA leaders, auditors and consultants who see the record-keeping problem across many companies at once.
Institutional Foodservice & Distribution
Hospital, university and corporate dining, and the distributors and suppliers who serve them.
Why You

In food, software gets bought
on trust.

Food producers don't change how their floor runs because a software company called. They listen to people who've worked in their world, understand their pressures and have earned a hearing. That's the part we can't build quickly — and it's the part you already have.

So the arrangement is simple. You bring the introductions and the credibility. We bring the product and do the heavy lifting.

How It Works

What you do.
What we handle.

You
  • Think of companies in your network that have the problems described above
  • Make the introduction and help set up the first conversation
  • Help us understand the company, the people and what matters to them
  • Stay involved as the trusted relationship while the opportunity develops
Shrink
  • Product demonstrations and every technical question
  • Pricing, proposals and contracts
  • Configuration, training and getting the customer running
  • Ongoing customer support

You will never be asked to configure software or answer a technical question you aren't sure of.

How You're Paid

Performance-based,
tied to what you originate.

This isn't a salaried role. Compensation is entirely performance-based and tied to business you originate or help develop.

A Share of Subscription Revenue
You earn a share of the subscription revenue from customers you originate or help develop.
Written Down Up Front
Terms are set out in a written business development appointment before any work begins. We'll walk you through the specific schedule in our first conversation.
Independent
You work as an independent contractor on your own schedule. This is not employment, and it doesn't require giving up other work you do.
Clear Boundaries
You open doors and represent the opportunity. Shrink sets pricing and signs customer agreements, so contract and delivery responsibility stay with us.
Two Different Programs

Opening doors, or delivering the software.
We have a program for each.
